The cotton cloth is hand dyed in most cases. So it has a tendency to lose colour when exposed to direct sunlight and washed with water. For outdoor use appliqué work is specifically done with synthetic waterproof cloth. Following are the dos and don’ts for appliqué craft. Do- Dust your appliqué items regularly.
- Wall hangings, bed sheets, table cloth etc can be dry cleaned once in a while.
Don’t- Don’t leave cotton appliqué item in the sun.
- Cotton appliqué items should not be cleaned with water.
- Do not let the bulb get too near to the cloth in the lamp shades.
PattachitraCare of Pattachitra should be taken just like a water colour painting. It is made either on layered cotton cloth, paper or on tasar silk cloth with colours that are mixed with water. These are the dos and don’ts for Pattachitra paintings. Do- Frame the Pattachitra paintings using a backing board and protective glass to protect it from heat, humidity and dust.
- Alternatively protective liquid spray can be applied.
- Keep the painting far from water and fire.

TextilesAll textiles sold on this site are made up of natural fabrics only and are hand woven. Great care must be taken to preserve their beauty. Do the following to take care of them. Do- Dry clean the silk clothes. Do not wash them with water.
- The cotton textiles must be dry cleaned the first time. Subsequently they can be washed with water.
- When not in use keep the clothes in a clean dry and cool place away from dust.
- Keep the cotton clothes ironed.

Stone and Metal CraftStone and Metal craft items do not require much care as they are naturally strong. Very simple care should be taken. Do- Dust them regularly.
- Occasionally wipe with a wet cloth.
- Metal craft items can be polished with an abrassive if an oxide layer forms on the surface.
Wood CraftWooden craft items should be cared for just like any other wooden item. Do- Dust them regularly.
